Do glow-in-the-dark lures catch fish or fishermen?

I was wondering if someone could share their experience or thoughts on whether glo-in-the-dark lures improve catching fish at night and/or murky water?

I would say for sure yes, under most conditions.
Have fished glow lures in the hole next to one that does not and easily caught more fish on the glow lure.
Sometimes it seems the fish are not real hot after one that is freshly charged up and like it to be a little dimer, like after a few minutes down the hole, but other times they take it right away.
Thats been my experience anyway.

Glow jigs are great for low light conditions. I also use them during the day when the sun is out as well. Most of my crappies at night come off of glow jigs. I have been using some glow spoons hor walleye and perch and they seem to work as well.
Good Fishing, Matt.

I have had luck on the glow airplanes and glow Nils Master jigging shads on pike. Mostly after the sun has gone behind the mountains. Just make sure they are charged or you'll be wasting your time.

Fishstock,
Welcome to the Forum.
Check out the post from 2/4/02: "Does Glow = Walleyes". There was a similar discussion on using glow-lures.

At night or in murky water, I always use some type of jig, spoon, plain hook or lure that glows.

Ive been using glow jigs since they first came out.I wont say always but most of the time they out perform plain hooks or some other non-glow jig, especially in stained water or evening bites.I know I have very few other jigs in my winter or summer arsinal of lures. That little extra seems to do the trick. Get some

I would say the overwhelming majority of people have, and will, say yes, definately, glow works. I was convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt on evening when fishing for crappies until, and after dark, with a buddy of mine. He had a blue and glow jig, tipped with a bait they used to call crappie candy. Not sure if you can still get it, but anyway. He was outfishing me 3 or 4 to one. Honest. Ever since then, I almost alway have at least one glow lure in the water every time I go fishing. And another thing is, it doesn't matter if it's day, or night, clear, or murkey water. I've found they work great under all conditions. To this day, the Blue/Glow combo is a favorite of mine, even in clear water.

Set the Hook, Hard!!
