Tully
Hi,I don't know if this is the right place for this question but I didn't see this area listed anywhere else. Has anyone fished this lake or have any tips where we should put our house? Looking for walleye and/or crappie. Something for the kids to catch. Any help would be appreciated. If you don't want to post a spot on here you can e-mail me. [email protected]Thanks,Tully
Crappie Killer
Yes Tully, you'd get more of a response on the Thief River forum. The houses that are by the Union Lake Campground are probably catching crappie, or if they're close in they're spearing. Walleyes are tough to find on that lake, so if I guy finds 'em, he's probably pretty tight-lipped about it. You might try the channel between east and west union, sometimes that's been hot. Another spot is to get out of the bay that the campground is on and fish the east shoreline of east union. That's been okay at times also. I can't help you on West Union, I've never fished that side. If you post on the Thief River forum, you might get more replies
Piker
I was just out there on Saturday. I didn't put much effort in, but found a spot and sat there. Saw fish on the vex but they wouldn't bite. I was in about 25 feet or so. I think it was the spot where people usually fish for walleyes. I am not sure though. I know if you walk down those stairs from the road in between Union and Sarah, they have houses and I think they catch panfish there. You could try the Thief River forum. There are some locals there.
