Eskimo Mako troubles

This year I decided to set myself up with a new power auger. I decided to go with the mako from eskimo. The first time i took it out, i wasn't impressed at all. It gets the job done, but I was anticipating a little bit more cutting speed. I had seen an earlier edition of the auger(the Sportsman)and that baby cut like a dream. The sportsman and the mako have the same specifications except the sportsman has a power point on the auger. I was wondering if anyone knows a significant diference the power point makes.

Get the powerpoint...it'll probably cut your drilling time in half!
