I just purchased a 2002 1800 Lund Pro V and found out I can not fit ANY of my spinning rods in the bow rod storage lockers due to the bottom islet of the fishing rod. confused.gif (The Side locker will only hold a 6' rod)

Has any other FM'ers found this problem? Has anyone tried modifying this? Any suggestions?

I would consider this a basic when designing a boat and I am a little disappointed Lund did not take this into consideration.

Didn't they go to using oval rod tubes in later years? A size 30mm spinning guide can be a problem in rod lockers. When I build spinning rods I usually use a 25mm guide and adjust the spacing accordingly. Anyhow, you may me able to elongate the holes which would make it more amenable to spinning rods.
