bubster77
Wondering if anyone has seen the carp in snelling lake. last year i went canoeing there and saw all these big fish. I didnt know they had carp in there and so i thought they were largemouth. After i saw a ton of them i realized they were definitley not largemouth. I found out from the DNR page they have carp in the lake ( and average size netted was 8 pounds!. There seems to be a ton in their and there near the swimming beach or near to shore. Anyone ever catch any carp out of their? Also anyone ever fish nearby Gun Club lake i was thinking of testing that this year?
fisherman-andy
Check the GunClub post on this section & the Metro section.Snelling is good for Carp. Toss some spinners & spoons and you have alot of fun catching Northerns and occassional Muskie. There are alot of Pike so bring a wire leader.
