It's getting to that time of year again where I come around to putting new line on the open water reels, and once again there are more choices and variations than the previous year.

Figured I'd put out a post to see if anyone found a line that works best for them in certain situations, and if anyone has a different or unique way of tackling these situations.

1. Panfish in shallow, weedy water.

2. Crappies suspended over deep structure, fallen tress.

3. Topwater lures for bass, or for use in lillypads.

4. Deep walleyes in stained water.

5. Casting for northern over shallow rocks. (daredevils)

6. River catfish relating to log jams.

7. Slip Bobbers for deep walleye.
