Thorne Bros. Finesse Plus

I haven't had too much time to target panfish this winter, but I decided yesterday to take advantage of the warm weather and head out to a metro lake to try for some crappies.

The fish were right at the edge of the basin break, and once we found them, it wasn't a matter of getting them to bite, it was a matter of DETECTING the bite!!!

I had a small Varmint on one of my other rods, but went even more stealth as the bite called for it. Without the Finesse plus with a spring bobber, I wouldn't have detected half the bites I had. The shorter length gave me more control of the bait as well, something that really helped with light line and deeper water.

Thank you Thorne Bros. for the great rod, and thanks Matt J. for setting me up this fall with "the system." Late ice is arguably the best time of year for pannies, and I was glad to have both of those rods yesterday.
