Fishtrap

Does anyone know anything about Fishtrap lake? I didn't see anything in the regional forums and I'm not sure what region to start this topic in.

Isn't that near Quickflip Lake in Clam county. HaHa, just messing with ya. Never heard of Fishtrap lake but there are a lot of Fish Lakes. Check the DNR HSOforum for the one you want.

I've only fished FishTrap in the summer, it's near Brainaerd. Fun lake to fish, good Bass, and Northerns, caught a couple crappies. Hope this helps

If this is the same Fishtrap I'm thinking of it is just off Hwy 10 north of Randall, MN. It has a respectable pan fish population as well as some excellent bass and northern. It connects by a channel to Lake Alexander to the east which is another great all species lake. You'll find a deeper hole on the east side of Fishtrap, to the south are several islands which produce the bass and northern, especially in the summer months. There is a nice KOA camp ground on the SW corner of the lake. A great tool would be to look up DNRLakemapfinder. Just type in the name and county and it will give you some good info on surveys, stocking info and species. You can also download a map with Acrobat on most of the lakes. Not the greatest map, but enough to get you started in the right direction. Hope this is the one you are referring to Ishmel. good luck, keep the line tight...Bill Turck St Cloud
