Shakespeare Sturdy Stick

I recently picked up a Casting 6'6" MH #20-40 Sturdy Stick at a local pawn shop. I figured for $8, I can't go wrong even if it doesn't work out. From the action I think it would make a pretty good flattie rod. Just wish it was a 7'-8' though.

Wondering if any other Catters has used one before?

do many pawn shops have fishing equipment? i guess it couldnt hurt to check.

Don't hurt to check garage sales either. A friend of mine found a Fenwick HMG Iron Hawk "Triggerstik" for $5. I gave him $20 for it. Its an inshore salt water rod used to fish over the side of the boat. Its a beefy little rod coming in at a whopping 5'9" long. Its rated for a 1-4 oz lure and 12-30lb line...perfect for "jigging" the big boys straight down over the side.
