One unfortunate soul has lost his life near Zimmerman, MN today. Snowmobiling on thin ice, heroic efforts by friends and emergency medical personel were not enough to save his life.

FYI, if I remember right from a recent Elk River Star newspaper article, there are now two new aerators that have been installed on the west side of this lake. When the ice does form on this lake, stay away from this area. The DNR should have a map showing the affected areas.The aerators had no bearing on the outcome of this accident. That guy shouldn't have even been on the shore ice, at all.
