Pake Lake Resort in Mahtowa, MN

I live in Colorado but next month I'm going to a family reunion at Pake Lake Resort. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction for preferred baits, good spots and where I can get my hands on a good map for Pake Lake? Also I'm a ESOX wacko with a canoe. What are some good musky lakes safe enough for a canoe in Minnesota?
