Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Paul and Marcum Technologies. I purchased an LX5 last December and love it; well last Tuesday, just 2 days before I was to leave on my 4th annual Greenback hunt up in Selkirk, my LX5 went goofy on me (I understand mine was one of just a handful of the thousands they have sold, to have a problem). I panicked to say the least, it would only work when I used the 8 degree cone angle and those of you that fish the river know that you need a larger cone angle to pick up your jig after it drifts down current, especially when fishing in a portable. I emailed Rick that night for some contact info and I called Marcum the next day. Boy was I pleased, I spoke with Paul the owner of Marcum, and he was more than willing to overnight me a brand new LX5 without making me pay for it and then reimburse me when I sent back my old unit, he just trusted that I would (and I did). At 10am Thursday morning, just 7 hours before I was supposed to leave, UPS deliverd me a lovely Red package . Even though I didn't get a big Greenback, the new unit made the trip much better, my only other alternative was to borrow an FL8 and get a headache from listening to it all day and watching a jumpy screen .
