St. Paul Ice show

Recommended Posts

Well, I finally got to go to the big show!! AMAZING!! Everything related to ice fishing and so much more. An awesome opportiunity to get some hands on, up close sampleing of so much equipment. I could hardly contain myself. Couple that with some trips to Cabellas, Fleet Farm, Gander Mntn etc and I was in ice fishing heaven! Of course, as I like to try and support my local retailers, I made a nice long list of must haves, but I did buy a few things while on the trip!

Thorne Bros had an awesome set up and I got to handle a few of their custom built ice rods...nice, nice stuff and worth the money. Those guys are icefishing fanatics and you need to check em out. The Ladredge real weeds are quite impressive...definately something to think about on our lakes that have such featureless flats...and lots of preditory pike...

The custom built fish houses, the Snow Bear and wilcraft ice fishing machines, the seminars, the stunning set ups by several manufacturers, obviously the heart of the industry back there and I already miss it!

If you are into icefishing, you really need to check this show out at least once...you will not be dissapointed. Maybe sometime a bunch of us from Montana get get together and take a road trip...fish Nelson, Devils Lake, hit the show...who knows???

In the mean time...get some fresh line on your reels, sharpen and sort your old rusty jigs, get some sharp blades on your auger...cause the ice fishin season is HERE!!!!
