Leaking Batteries

I have a question regarding Trolling Motor Batteries? I charged up the batteries before putting them away for the winter in the basement (off cement floor) I went to check on them earlier today and notice one is leaking terribly from the top? Is this normal? Battery is 3 years old. Nautalis Gold 800. Any comments would be welcome.

Did you happen to add too much water to the cells?

I usually add water in the Spring before I put them back into the boat. Didn't do anything different than last year. Go figure

That's weird, unless it might be a bad or cracked cell, but I wouldn't think that would do that. You may want to post this in the equipment and expert information section
