tearin' lips
I did not want to believe the rumors, but black bay was mostly froze over by wednesday and we couln't get a boat out onto the bay, so we grabbed our waders and headed down onto the Rainy River. It was nice because the deepest water we had to wade through was only a foot and a half deep. We waded out to a sand bar that I know plenty of water fowl use. Three of us set up two dozen GHG sleeper shells, four GHG rester shells, and a half a dozen GHG FFD Elite full bodies in the active position. Along with a dozen mallards with our spinning wing decoy, and a dozen and a half bluebill dekes. we only ended up with a few bills, but it was an amzaing morning even if we did not do as well on the ducks as we wanted. We watched about 1,000-1,500 mallards pour into this farmers field, across the river, unfortunately they didn't want to leave that field and instead of fresh duck we had to leave to eat turkey.. Not a bad way to cap off a great season though. Hope Everyone Had a Great Turkey Day! and Good Hunting!!
