Check the ingredient label. Salt and Mineral are LEGAL to hunt over in Minnesota. Any food product not occuring naturally is ILLEGAL. I.E. Apples in the middle of the woods not underneath an apple tree, A mysterious bushel of corn, or any products containing molasses. Regulations are pretty clear in the DNR Hunting Regs book. Pick up a copy or check them out online.

I believe Deercane is 100% salt and mineral making it LEGAL to hunt over, but without the package in front of me I can't be sure.

I looked at the package this morning based off of another post. It is mineral, and is advertised as mineral. It does list natural and artificial sweeteners as the very last ingredients, but it does not contain food ingredients. By it's packaging and it's ingredients it is legal. I guess though based off "standard internet forum yahoo arguments" I would probably call the DNR before I used it.
