Mike Patenaude
Hey Jimmy: I hunted last Friday nite 11/3 near Rush City. I had been seeing quite a few geese landing in corn fields right near the freeway in the mornings and evenings. That Friday nite I had about 1000 geese come into the field that I hunted and fields that were close to that one. It was one of the craziest nites I've ever hunted. They came in but stayed 70 yds out in front of my decoys ( I set to far back) It was actually pretty funny because they were sitting out there, I had closed myself in my blind, and then was trapped in there for about 1/2 hour until 4 came right over my head. I shot two, and that was that. In the meantime about 3-400 were sitting out in front of me, you should have seen the sight when they took off due to my shooting. By the way I have 2 Guide series (Gander Mtn) blinds, the second one I bought is the better one, retails for like $219 the lesser model is $189. I would really recomend this one as it has a lot of room, double side pockets, and foot reinforcements to keep the front propped up. This model also includes a front zipper for cleaning out the mud etc that gets in them. This model also has a double strap on the back as opposed to one so you can carry it like a back pack. That free's up your hands to carry other things. Also a good hint, I keep a pillow inside mine for sitting on. That ground gets hard after a while .
