Fishky06
I'll be hunting some big water on friday, and hit some corn on saturday, and sunday. The duck numbers down here seem to be getting better as the week goes on. I have seen a lot of bills and a few mallards. The field that we plan to hunt on saturday and sunday is getting hit by mallards and geese, or at least that is what the farmer told me today. I hope for the best, but either way I just can't wait to get out! Good luck and shoot straight this weekend.

Mossy19
I am leaving southern mn and heading to Bemidji for 2 days, then over to the Deer River area for 2 days. Probably hunt the Third River Flowagae for sure one of them days. I just haven't seen the birds around here lately.
waterfowlerjm
hey fishky, how was the big water today? I went out this morning; saw some mallards, bluebills, hooded mergansers and others. It wasn't bad but the warm weather and little wind didn't help. I wish I could find a field where the mallards are going.
Fish&Fowl
I'm finally home to do some hunting on Rainy. Got stuck down in Ely for a search and rescue class over MEA weekend and I got about 5 hrs. of hunting in over the 4-day weekend Got out during the week some but the duck numbers that far east are pretty pathetic. Glad to be back home where there's big water and a lot more birds.
Fishky06
the big water was ok we saw a lot of mallards and bills but the warm weather and lack of wind in the morning didn't help us. With all the corn coming out if you put in your time you should be able to find some birds working. Just put yourself in the right area.
Fish&Fowl
Well Rainy ended up paying off. Got 3 nice greenheads Sat. when I went out by myself and the old man and I got 7 drakes and a suzie today. Lots of birds around, but we were busting quite a bit of ice and the forecast looks like COLD coming up.
Guest
Fish & Fowl.. I dont want to come across rude... but I am glad you are seeing ice! We need it to freeze up there to push the birds down here.I am seeing a couple migrant flocks every day, but its just a few birds filtering through. I got a nice drake pintail today and a nice drake GWT... so something is coming from somewhere! But, the birds are few right now.
Fish&Fowl
TGFirst of all, congrats on the pintail! Haven't shot one yet and it's high on my "to shoot" list along with a bull can. I was figuring on this weather locking up a lot of the small water, but with these winds we've got blowing that's not happening yet. This should get a good number of birds moving your way that want to take advantage of a good NW howler. I think we still have a couple good weeks up here before the last big flight comes through, but ya never know. Unfortunately I'm back in at school all week where there are very few birds, but I'm hoping to get out once or twice at home during deer season. Good luck hunting!
