duckbuster
Than to be hunting divers on big water in a snow storm?Hunting Northern MN this past week where we got close to 5 inches of snow at the shack. There were several times during the day where you couldn't see 200 yards out from the blind. The snow was coming down and the Bills were all over the place!!!The past few years we have been infatuated with the Beaver dams so we haven't hunted the lake to much. It has been a long, long time since I've seen so many bills on the lake. It was wave after wave after wave. I believe a lot of those were in fact new ducks, especially with the howling northwest wind we had. What was really weird about it was that we were on the south end of the lake where it was the roughest and they kept filling up the bay. 10 here, 40 there, another group of 25-30, it was amazing and very exciting!!!Man, what a great feeling to see so many ducks. Now I hope they stick around for a few weeks!!!By the way none of the birds we shot were the big white bellied bills, the true northern bill.It was fun, I am really looking forward to the next few weeks!!!GOOD LUCK & BE SAFE!!!!!! Fish&Fowl
As far as I'm concerned that's pretty tough to beat. I've been stuck in Ely for school where there just ain't much for duck activity compared to home and Canada. Looking forward to getting up for some hunting back on the home field now that we've had our good first NW blast.
