Who makes their own venisin?

Yeah...me too. It looks like the deer where I hunt got cleaned out last year. Not sure what happened. We were seeing ~30 a night last year, and this year we are lucky to see one or two.

I forgot the recipe at home. I'll try and remember to get it posted tonight. If you don't get a deer, it works great with pork.

Dude.. theres no way I am using pork... I have had plenty of oppertunity.. I had a very nice doe at about 5 feet from the base of my tree.. she just never gave me a shot.. walked stright away...

It will happen, and I WILL need that recipee...

LOL....Ok, but you will need to add pork fat to it or it just does not have enough fat to taste right.

Are you trying the new Exude micro's on the ice this year? I put my winter order in 2 months ago....still have not seen it. I'm sure I'll get it by spring.

1 t Nutmeg

3T Brown sugar

5# Meat

1-2# Pork Fat (To taste)

I have some of the Micro Exude stuff... I may give them a shot on the ice.. I personally think its a little big, but who knows. May just be the ticket. Caught quite a few crappie on the micro shad during the open water months.

Yeah, the craws might be a little big, but I think the nymphs are about perfect for perch. I had good luck with them on trout this spring.
