Minnkota Maxxum 50T transom mount 12volt Very Nice(SOLD)

Recommended Posts

Actually Minnkota sells a 55lb thrust transom mount 12 volts. (Maxxum 55T) Going for $359 at Cabelas. (Ouch) For an 18ft boat though, the motor could be used in winds to help slow the boat or control a drift, but as far as backtrolling, I don't think you'd have much success in heavier winds. Thanks for your interest, Junky....

I had a 55 LB Minnkota transom mount on a 16 ft Lund Explorer. It worked OK most of the time. Many new boats in the 17 to 18 foot range still have that size motor. I went to a front mount 50 LB. Works about the same. The 24 volt option adds expense to batteries and more weight.

If I had the cash I would buy the motor in a heartbeat! Its a steal at the price listed!

This motor will work great on everything up to 16', and will push a larger boat, but a person couldnt expect much for performance on a big boat on a windy day. It has plenty of power to push the boats foreward, but it would struggle trying to backtroll in any chop on a larger boat.

These motors also promote excellant battery life(maximizer), and they have the infinate speed control so you dont have to kick between sppeds to get the speed you want. If your using them to hold position, or control a drift.. putt around and cast they will run forever on a decent battery. Its the perfect motor for those fishing the electric motor only lakes with small to mid size boats to boot!

Somebody better jump on this!

Considering trades?

Thanks for the sales pitch TG. wink.gif I know it's a tough decision to buy any electric product used, but, if you see the motor you know it hasn't been used much. I have pics to prove and anyone is welcome to come take a look. Nothing to hide here. I'm in the market for a 2006 Honda 25/30hp prop w/12 pitch. Stainless or aluminum. Could make a deal if someone has one laying around. Thanks again. Junkky....

Send me what pics you have too burchoid at gmail (Contact Us Please)

I just picked up a 17' boat but it came with a 30lb thrust trolling motor (pretty much worthless with anything more than 2 MPH wind)

Thanks!

Did some housekeeping tonight and found 2 Roberts rod holders that I will throw into the deal if you would like. I don't have the holder mounts, but you can buy them seperate. These holders are like new. My loss, your gain. Thank you, Junky...
