lost torque tab

Anyone ever have thier torque tab fall off? I have a '03 50 HP Merc 2 stroke and just noticed that mine is missing. I'm guessing it was after my last trip but aren't sure. I did notice that I had a little more cavitation on left turns could this be a sing that it was missing?

Also is it safe to operate my motor without it for a few trips?

You should be fine for a few times out. Mine broke last year when weeds got wrapped around the prop, took a couple weeks before I got around to getting a new one. Don't leave it too long though because on most smaller motors they are your only zinc electrode.

My 200 opti doesn't even have a trim tab. If it did the prop would take it off when the first blade came to the top.
