Anyone hunt Lake of the Woods for opener?

Did anyone hunt the big lake for opener? I was wondering if there are any ducks around up there. I will be going in the morning to start the season down here.

We go up there and hunt geese mainly, but we shoot a few ducks too in the fields and whatnot. As far as the lake shore, it can get crowed, there are some good spots to hunt though. Our biggest problem has been getting the boat of the water. We have always had a strong wind blowing right into the spot where we wanted to hunt, and by stron wind I mean there were two to three footers out there. My buddy has a video of me wading out into the wild rice to see if I could pass shoot a few divers that were buzzing over. Well, needless to say I took one over the waders, and that was enough of that. I have always seen lots of ducks there though, in fact my uncle is there right now hunting ducks and geese. I will post tomorrow evening and let you know how he did.

We hunted it last year for a couple of days and had ducks every day. We hunted the morris point and four mile bay area...seems like everyday that we were out there the ducks were in the decoys before our guns were out. The wind and waves did make it quite tricky though. Lots of fun and can't wait to get back up there this year.
