Cuyuna Mines TROUT!

Katman

Recommended Posts

This will be my last outing for trout before season closed. I was wondering if any of you pros here have been here and can shine some light for us new guys. This place seems plenty deep (500+ ft)for trout. Our main targets will be muskies, bass, and trout. We'll be on 2 18 footers so navigation won't really be a problem. Are there any nice streams running into the mines with a nice trout flow? What flies would you guys recommend? I will probably bring my 5wt with my 6 lbs leader. My 7wt for the muskies....but what leaders to use? Any help will be greatly appreciated! grin.gif

Really! Marshmellow and corn huh. Maybe my 5wt and a spin should do the trick! Hahah....oh yeah...I meant northerns. Do you know the depths people are fishing? 500+ ft would be pretty hard to guess. But I'm thinking the water should be around high mid to high 50s or so....enough for the trout to come up for food. 20ft and up?

I have never really fished them myself, but have heard they do pretty well out there on those baits. My friend that fishes them out there says to find em on the graph and jig/bobber over them.
