help please on duck hunting north of duluth

I have a chance to hunt duck near cotton mn. It's 35 miles north of duluth up higway 53. I have been up there to fish over the summer and saw very little ducks or geese. I don't want to waste my time going up there. Anyone have any experience duck hunting up in that area. There are some good ponds, i just haven't been it that area around duck season before. Any info would be great. thank you

thank you for the reply. I would go up and scout but it's along drive for me, and with work and all...you know how that goes. There are a couple small ponds, good cover, i think you can get in with a conoe or wade in. one spot is a large pond, would need to drag a boat. i did do some scout in july/ aug but didn't see any birds. I have never been up there in the fall.. so i don't know if the area would even get birds. any help on that would be great, don't want to have to drive up and end of fishing instead, to cold. thanks
