Very cute. Is this a French Brittany? I'm getting very serious about getting another dog and a French Brit is what I'd like to get? Are you happy with him/her? It will be a family dog and hunted very little. My wife insists on a light shedder and I've been told these are fairly light, is that true?

Thanks for the info Slowfinger. Curious why you had a French and now have a American? I'm leaning toward the French just because the size is a little smaller and I'm told maybe a little less "hyper". What's your opinion? Thanks!

My French was 15 when I put her down. She was a hunting machine and was constantly by my side. I told myself I'd wait a year before getting a new pup. I waited 2 months before I couldn't take it any longer. I went to the same breeder, Jessi is a great niece of Kelli. The breeder got sick of all the wacko's who said the French Britt wasn't as good as the American Britts and so he quit breeding them. So I went with an American. My French was all black with white and my American is a typical looker. It was a hard decision to make, but I don't regret it a bit. My French was tougher, but I haven't found out how well this one hunts yet - things look good. They're the same in terms of hyperness. And size is switched, the French was bigger. Be sure not to settle tho if you want a French...I personally don't care what kind, I just love them Britts.
