lawn problems

i have something that is digging tunnels in my back yard. They seem to be about 2 inches under the ground and run for 4-5 feet. Any idea of what they are? and how to get rid of them?

Sounds to me like a mole problem. I think this was discussed a few weeks ago! If it is moles, they are looking for food. Grubs are what they love. Lots of options and answers on how to get rid of them. Might try a "search" on this site or google. Good luck! jps
