Frostee Jigging Spoons???

Ice Fishing Kid

Jigging spoons in general are a superior tool to have in your open water and ice fishing tackle box. On hard water, they give you the ability to fish fast, yet add flash and a high hooking percentage. I appreciate the glowing brightness that that Techni-Glow paint provides. In my experiences, it glows as bright or brighter than any other paint out there.

In terms of color, I’ve been using a similar product with a greater range of color selections. The Scenic Tackle Go Devil can be found here. My favorites are glow red and glow purple. I also like the pink/white.

Last year I had the smallest size Techni-Glo jigging spoon tied on at least one of my rods the entire ice season. The best color changed day to day. I'd usually tip it with a Techni-Glo split tail plastic or a Custom Jigs & Spin Ratso/Shrimpo tail and leave the live bait in my pocket. I caught mainly crappies, but quite a few gills too. Perch, pike, walleyes, and bass would also sample the lure from time to time. The small size combined with a treble hook is a huge advantage when it comes to hooking percentages. I used it with a spring bobber 99% of the time.

The Frostee is similar to the Custom Jigs and Spins Demon Jigging Spoon. I used the Demon Jigging Spoon last winter and it worked well for a variety of species. Jigging spoons are such a versatile presentation and it's tough not to have one tied on a rod at all times, no matter the specie.

Pack the spoon with maggots or a minnow head for perch and pannies, or run a whole minnow or minnow head for bass, walleye, pike, and cats. A very aggressive approach, yet the option of finessing with a jigging spoon is still there...
