Kenora Area Vacation

Recommended Posts

Labor Day weekend I'll be setting out for Grassy Narrows to attend a wedding. After my obligations there are done, I've got no itinerary. Just me, a tent, a pair of waders and some fly and spinning rods. I'll probably bring a trolling motor in case I want to rent a boat. I've been looking at Whiteshell Provincial Park as a place to start. Anyone used George lake outfitters? Any other recommendations within say, a hundred miles? should I just stay around Grassy Narrows? I'm looking to fish for whatever is there, but would like to catch some walleye and some brookies would be fun too. I've got two weeks to spend.

walleys are everywhere on the english river system just fish in the current. I know there are some trout lakes off the trans canada highway if you head east from kenora just past highway 71. it has been a few years since I was up there but I know of a 34.5 inch walleye caught by grassy narrows. ask around the locals should be able to help you
