Night fishing

Recommended Posts

Thinking of trying night fishing the for the first time this weekend. I know a few of you have said stick to the normal spots and shallower, just wondering if you are talking about casting way up into the shallow cabbage or shallower on the rock piles and shallow reefs, or both? confused.gif How do you keep your lures clean if you are casting into shallow cabbage and can't see? Do you leave your headlamps on while fishing or turn them on after hooking one? Just a newbie muskie nut looking for a few answers and any other possible tips. I need all the help I can get, I've been fishing lunges about 3-4 weeks and have had some great action but nothing in the boat yet. Hearing you guys talk about night fishing definitely makes me want to try that too! Any help appreciated VERY much!!

I normally fish all the same spots I do during light hours.

Keep that headlamp off unless you need it on...fish on, changing lures, etc. it will only spook fish if you leave it on.

Before you head out for an evening of fishing make sure that your boat is clean and organized. You dont want to be dodging gear in the dark with a fish on the line.
