joe_stack20
Are days like these good to water a lawn during the day?? I have been told to never water during the day...but to me it just sounds good given the conditions. Any suggestions/opinions would be great. harvey lee
Your best time of the day is early morning to water your lawn. You will have less evaporation of the water and the sun will dry your grass blades for less chance of disease.During the day will also work as the sun will again dry your grass blades, but with some evaporation from the sun and heat.Watering your lawn after dark will leave you grass wet most of the night and you increase the chance of starting a disease in your lawn. Alot of people that water at night do it because they are not at home all day and dont have a sprinkler system. You dont want to put your lawn to bed at night all wet. This is what I been told by many lawn people and have read.
setterguy
First off some water is better than no water, if during the day is the only time you can do it, do it. Just like LH said the best time to water is in the morning, less evaporation, less wind, and your lawn will have access to that moisture during the heat of the day when it needs it most. When its this hot ecspecailly at night watering overnight shouldn't be too much of a problem its when we start getting cool nights that watering after dark should be avoided for reasons stated above.
