Rewiring my fish house

Just wondering if anyone would have any answers for me on what type of wire to use to rewire my fish house. Just bought it late last winter and the wiring the guy put in it looks like speaker wire. Any ideas on guage, does it have to be a marine type wire? It will be run off 12 volt for now but I may buy a small generator sometime too.

I run nothing less then 14 gage primary automitive wire with a pvc insulator, available at any auto parts or hardware store. That should be big enough for all you 12 volt needs.

There is no need to use any special or marine wire as it should be protected from the elements by the walls of your shanty.

Good tip; heat shrink all you connections and use only butt connectors or solder. Soldering is the most reliable.
