Hey there Chris, sorry for not sticking around to chat and visit but it was a hellish day on the water for us. I was not in any mood for other than a nap before going back to work at 5:30.

How did you guys do? We had some real nice fish on but the fish gods were just not with us today. We just could not get a hook set if our lives depended on it. Anchor trouble, snags, and on top of it all I lost my $200. rod & reel combo into the Red the last hour of the day. sigh sigh.. that pretty much did me in.... Two and a half days with out sleep are getting to me. Was nice to see ya though.

I do have a real cool tale for ya though.. I soooooooo wish we had the video camera out today and running when I got a big hit and it took me into a shag.......Gee another one????

I started to pull on it trying to dislodge it with out breaking off. I am running Berkley Braid on that reel. I could feel it was solid so I pulled just a bit harder and held it. Then I could feel it starging to pull loose. It all of a sudden came free and started to race to the surface. I yelled to Bruce to look at the line racing to the surface, was very odd and heavy. All of a sudden a Giant log, 20 feet long with a Y at the end and a good foot and a half across, came bursting from the deep. It came up with such force that it looked like a submarine when they shoot out of the water and splash down... was the most amaizing snag I have ever seen.. With the lack of current I was able to pull it to the boat and get my rigging back and released the creature back to the water where it floated down river until I pushed it onto the shore so no one would hit it. I tell ya what, that was such a wild site, How I was able to dislodge that log from the bottom and on top of it all it came up like a balloon. You should have been there to see it ... Just crazy.

We finished 6th or 7th, somewhere in that area anyway.

15.2lb, 14.4lb, & the slot was 4.4lb So that put us about 4lbs out of 1st.

The Montana boys with the RiverPro got 4th I think. It was pretty cool hanging out and chatting with them.

All in all, it was a fun day on the water. We caught so many "slot" fish it wasn't even funny. Just trying to decide when to keep one for the limit became tough.

Shannon's motor was giving us some problems on the way in. It kept losing power like it was getting starved for fuel. But we made it!

No worries, Hanson. I thought with all your recent posts, you came home early or something.

Probably just as well, it's been pretty slow, I took the night off, and cleaned all the mayflies out of my boat from Fri.

That snag story is funny........we had a somewhat similar story of Fri. We were set up right in front of a big snag in probaby the fastest moving current in a few miles. In fact I was surprised the anchor held at all, anyways, my partner Jim, gets a nice run and puts a major league set on it. Well the force of that set broke the anchor free, so now he's fighting a fish and the boat is racing for the snag. Right before we banged the snag the anchor recaught, but now the back anchor was free and in his way, so I'm trying to get it out of the way. I do that and quick grab the net and the fish came up to the surface. He was up in front of the boat and brought it towards the front, I had the net in back, in line with it.......the hook pops out, "oh no!", and I watch the fish slide into the net, but he didn't see that. He plops down on the seat and has "that" look on his face. Right then I lift the net and he just beams. grin.gif

At that point it was the biggest fish of the night.

Hanson, I also enjoyed visiting with you and Catman.. It's always fun to meet people face to face when you've done nothing but read and reply to posts on a computer. I had an awesome time at the tournament and can't wait until Cats Incredible....that should be a blast. When the date gets closer we should communicate about maybe prefishing or just get together and B.S.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
