Hot bite

Was out today in a variety of places and the bite was pretty good. Started out on the south branch of whitewater and walked about a mile upstream. Plenty of nice hits and fish caught in about 2 hours there. Next up was trout run creek and it was basically throw your lure into the deep holes and a fish would hit. Ended up with probably about 15-20 browns there. Next up was the root river in lanesboro and was decent success. First fish was the killer though. It was a pretty nice brown and I yelled at my buddy to throw me the net but luck be it he had a nice rainbow on with no chance to throw me the net. The second i get it up in my hands and on the shore it flops and snaps the line falling out of my hands. I got it stopped on the shore but as luck would have it it slipped out and flopped into the water along with my lure stuck in its mouth. It was probably about a 16 or 17" brown so if anybody happens to catch it I would appreciate getting my lure back . All in all it was a good day to be out with a hot bite.

You bet I would tyler that was a nice fish and that lure is a rare find in stores now a days it sells like a hotcake as soon as they get them in stock in the two stores that carry them in the rochester area.

I went outside of lanesboro and fished rapids in the deep cuts with the hot whether,but did not even get a follow.Are these fish hold up in that small of a area?I saw the campground you talked about,but where the tubes enter I was'nt sure because there are 3 or 4 different tube services and they seem to go to different places.I'll try to get a hold of you next time I'm going down there so I can get educated on the river as it's like finding a needle in a haystack.
