Hi i am planning a trout fishing/prospecting trip to the Bozeman area. I was wanting to try the Gallatin river. How is the fishing and are you allowed to prospect bthis area?

Another question: Is the majority of stream fishing in MOntana "fly fishin` only" or are you pretty much allowed to spinner/bait fish in most of the streams.

Was also considering Helena near Confederate Gulch for prospecting. I am curious if there are public places to prospect and if there are any good places to trout fish. A stream that has both would be awsome! (fish a little/pan a little).

Thankyou, I cant wait to get up in the mountains.
