oldcritter
I have fished the river from Minaki up to White Dog dam. My best luck has come off points, narrows and reefs in the main channel. Also, a lot of fishermen do well right under the railroad bridge just north of the town.Once you head north on the river you can head two directions. Either you can go northeast up to Sand lake where there are good spots on the reefs and around small islands in the main body of the lake. My more favored trip is to the northwest up to Roughrock Lake where there are plenty of narrows and points from where to catch some nice 'eyes. Good luck. sweept
Thanks for the tip we will have to give it a try. I have heard rumurs that roughrock is tough on propellers and lower units is this so?
DeBo101
Roughrock isn't all that much worse than the rest of the system. The lodge must have put out milk jugs on some of the evil rocks last summer. Take your time until you know where you are going and you should be just fine. We will be arriving on the 17th as well and are staying at paradise Cove. I'll be fishing out of a white side console monark. Fishing sounds like it has been very good thus far. My buddies dad is already up there so he should have them dialed in for us. It's nice having a "Spy" in the north country .
