Pike on Prior?

Recommended Posts

I've been fishing that lake for a few years now, and although I do Ok on Bass and Panfish, and can occasionally luck into Walleye I have YET to see a pike on that lake.

I know that according to the DNR there are a few nice ones swimming around in there, but they have eluded me to date. Without giving away a honey hole, anyone willing to share a pointer or two?

I did really well with Pike in the winter, 36 in. and a 38 in. were the biggest of this past season. I am stumped also as for open water and where these fish go in the summer. I am guessing I need to try deeper than I am currently fishing, becuase you would think with the good population of pike in prior that I would run into one once and a while when throwing spinners etc.. for bass, but nothing. I have tried running some cranks in deeper water, but with very limited success. I am trying to figure it out also. I also know that the spear fisherman do quite well in the winter also. I would like to hear some thoughts from others on where the pike go in the summer also. Good Luck. They are in there!
