Game plan for smallies

I posted this in the ML forum also but I thought I would try it here as well.

I will be up to Mille Lacs this weekend fishing mainly walleyes but I would like to try for smallies as well. I'll be on the east side near big point. I have purchased some tubes and have some crank baits. I purchased some senko worms but I have never caught a bass on one of these. Otherwise I am not sure what else to purchase. Any general tips or areas to try to help me put together a game plan?

I was on ML last weekend and didn't fare to well. I didn't send too much time chasing smallmouth though because of the wind and heat. What you mentioned should work good out there. I would also try some small twister tails, and don't forget about the topwater. Topwater can be dy-no-mite! Just find some rocks and start throwing!
