big musk411
I was out on the ol miss last night and man is that water high. We caught a few cats on a shallow bar in about four feet, one by a bridge piling, and one behind an island in about 9ft. We didn't get a redhorse untill about half way through, so we only had good bait half the time. We tried to fish some flooded trees, but the current was too fast and we were unable to anchor.Where do all of you all catfish pros fish when the water is real high? Thanks!Matt T
rushing
You fishing flats or channel cats? Big water like the Miss is not something I have tackled yet but for high water on the Minnesota river you focus on shore line structure. The fast water pushes the fish towards the shore line so that might be where you wanna focus your fishing. Deep eddies, creek mouths, any type of structure that might hold baitfish is a potential feeding area for cats. Hope this helps alittle, good luck! I am off to hit the river!
