Spending top dollars on Cubbie tix to sit in cold rain and watch the Cubbies eat their lunch. Man, I feel for you, though you may not get too much sympathy on this web site considering the "beat down" the Twinks took at the hands of the Kitties. I was hoping the Twinks would actually show up and take a game or two to help my beloved Pale Hose. My boys are cruising along right now, like butta baby, on a roll and hot! Take em when you can get em I guess, we may need them in September. Thome is on fire, quickest Sox to 10 taters in history, passing the Big Hurt by 5 games, he is cocked, locked and ready to rock right now. The guy is a real goof off. He is quoted in the papers that he does not like AJ and has not drilled a single guy all year. He was pitching good and had pinpoint control until AJ gets up there and he drills him with the second pitch (yea that will really fool people) The dirty part was he threw behind AJ and at his knee. If you are a man and are going to drill somebody you aim for the fanny, if you are trying in injure somebody you aim for the head or knee and throw behind them because their natural reaction is to back away from the ball and they back right into it. Then the dufus ump goes and warns both benches right then and there. What a tool! Ozzie was irrate because that took away his option to retaliate. He should have waited until the Sox drilled one of their guys and then warned both benches or if he knew there would be trouble, and I am sure he did, he should have tossed Kelvim right then and there. Clearly a case of the ump not having the "nads" to do the right thing. So the Sox just took it in and swept the pathetic Angels. I used to like Mike Sossia and thought he was a pretty good manager but he has lost a few steps in my book and seems at times to be a whiny cry baby when it comes to playing the game like it used to be played before these namby pamby umps took over with their political correctness. A sweep is a sweep and we had not done that since 1993 in LA LA Land so I guess we will take it and get even when the Halos come a calling to the South Side of Chicago, in the baddest part of town, pardon my Jim Croce-ism and as usual...YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES! I umped a 14 yr old game in the drizzle this Sat and called it after 5 1/2. Naturally, the losing visitor team (down 11-9) got po'd. Even had 14 yr olds talking trash to me on the way to the parking lot with not a man amongst the dads willing to stand up and shutup their "superstar".

Pathetic how young they start being inconsiderate these days. At least the winning home team showed class and came and shook my hand for standing in the rain for 2+ hrs until I just couldn't see through the mask anymore for balls/strikes. I don't feel bad about a thing though because I know it was really unsafe at that time. I'll tell you this, the older I get, the less "impartial" I become. Hope they don't get me again, or I might have to "squeeze" them alittle. Nothing better than seeing a poor sport lose a game that doesn't even mean a thing.

The first little darling out there that would slip and tear an ACL in the slick grass would probably have a lawyer for a dad who would sue you for not stopping the game. I used to be an umpire and a manager in Little League and I never put up with any carp (you shuffle the letters) from any parent, grandparent or fan. You have to have brass monkeys when it comes to either position. Just finished watching my beloved deliver another "beat down". Starting pitching was superb once again and the bats were alive. A little dissapointed in McCarthy and Cotts letting the Tribe back into the game but the "Big Man" Bobby Jenks took care of bid-niss in the 9th and once again, say it with me Geno...
