what are crappie's bitting on?

Hello. I will be fishing crappie's this weekend. Are they bitting on live bait, or are plastics working the best right now?

Two days ago I limited out using a chartruse fuzzy jig tipped with a minnow. Fishing in 13 ft of water I found them suspended in 5-8 ft. Watch your bobber close as it was a light bite.

Plastics for this guy, pink jig head with brown body. 2ft water. Use minnow money for beer!

Plastics were working for me yesterday - fan casted a 1/16 oz chartruese jig with a 1.5 inch Southern Pro tube in purple flake with a chartruese tail. My buddy insisted on drowning minnows under a bobber but switched quickly once I caught 6 to his 1. Fish were shallow on a weed flat when the wind was blowing. Once the wind died, the fish slid off to deeper water but were still willing to bite.

Yellow eXude 2" curly tails. yesterday plastics only were working; today, plastics plus a fathead.

Crappies are pretty much biting on anything. You just have to find them, that is all. Once you find them, they will bite pretty much plastics or minnow. However, some baits/lures may work faster than other.. But in the end, you come home with a limit anyways.....

I caught over 50 on Minnows yesterday. Maybe 3 on plastics, the boat next to me was using waxies and all they could get were sunnies.

been doing pretty good on small red/silver and blue/silver crappie tubes.normal size crappies and a few small sunnies in about 3-8ft
