Abram, Minnitaki Lake Trout

Anybody have any pointers for a first timer trying for a couple Lake Trout? We will be on Abram and Minnitaki from June 10-16 this year. What depths should we target this time of year? What should we use for bait? Artificial? Locations? Anything? Have never tried it before and it sounds like a nice break from the walleyes. Thanks.

Forget about Abrams, I've tried many, many times and have yet to pull up a trout on Abrams. Minnitaki is the place to try, the water is clearer with more trout.

Bearpaw try Lyons bay in Minnitaki. Use Zip and Sonars, big ones. When you go threw the opening into lyons head across the bay towards the island on your left.this side of island to other shore nice hump there check it out. Good time to go. Dan

Any particular colors. Do you rip jig them? Should they be on the top of the hump or off the edge? Suspended? I have no idea. Thanks a bunch.

There is an old school bait that's still on the market (I think) called trial and error. Try it sometime.
