Has anyone heard when Chatfield will open for boating?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting ansy to get back on open water again. I was wondering if anyone knew if Chatfield had opened for boating yet. Love to catch some walleye and smallmouth.

I'd love to talk with anyone who fishes at Chatfield and get your opinion about why the walleye seem to be stuck on the 17 1/2 inch length. You don't see many over 18 inches. When harvest takes place each year the DOW seem to find a healthy population of Big brood fish. I've also heard that there are plenty of shad. So, I don't understand why these fish don't grow faster.

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Chatfield is open for boating now. Just stay away from the nets along the dam. I fish it quite a few times a year. We'll hook up sooner or later.
