Smoker,

I understand the NMMA (I think that is right - National Marine Motor Assoc - I THINK) will be coming out with a rating FW-C this year that is the equivilent to the TWC - 3 us two stroke folks are familar with.

From all of what I've seen a SAE certified quality oil in the viscosity rating specified by your manual should be fine. SJ, SH and SG ratings should work.

Some folks swear by AMSOIL who has a 4 stroke synthetic that I think is certified by the SAE.

Mostly brand loyalty I think, but suspect the Manufacture's oil wouldn't cost you more than 10 bucks more over a couple years - which is why they sell it I suppose... It's still kind of a bite in the tail when you buy it though.

Go to Gander Mountain or Fleet Farm and get oil that is designed for 4 strokes. I think Fleet Farm has it around $2 a bottle and Gander has it for $2.50-3.00 a bottle for a quality brand.

You will save less than $5 over other oil and could spend that in a repair real quick.
