Turkey Hunting

I am wondering if anyone knows when the turkey hunting season starts? Both reservation and non-reservation.

Most seasons start April 8 - May 21. Each county has different regulations as does each permit. You'll have to check the SoDak GF&P HSOforum for details. The Spring Turkey application should contain all the info your looking for.

I can't help or comment on the reservation licenses.

I am trying archery turkey for the first time this year. I believe that season starts on April 1st. I am unsure of the the starting date for shotgunning season.

Thanks. I thought it was mid April. I think I may just make a phone call to a shop in Mobridge and get the total scoop.

The F&Game site is the one to check out. They also have the phone numbers for the reservations. Each one of their seasons/hunts is a little bit different. Good luck!

Thanks Joel! I just talked with a guy last night at our banquet in Nisswa and he was saying because of the lack of snow in S.Dakota that the reservations don't know what the bird count is, thus they haven't decided on the number of permits they are giving out, etc. Not sure when the seasons begin, but I will search out the Game and Fish site.
