Grand Rapids Area Lakes

Hi, A buddy of mine has a cabin near Grand Rapids, MN. He wants me to visit and take him Musky fishing, but he is unsure if there are any lakes in the area. I'm just wondering if there are any lakes nearby that I could take him to. He has never went before so a numbers lake would be alright.

Lots of good musky waters in the Grand Rapids area. Deer and Moose are the two most well known with Moose being the better bet if you're looking for more action. Those aren't the only two options. Stop in at any Gander Mountain or other similar retailer and pick up the MN Musky Guide map book by Sportsman's Connection. Lots of great information in there for the entire state and there's a handful of lakes in the book in the Grand Rapids area as well. Decent maps that are marked with some good spots to check out as well as write ups on the lakes. Of course since the maps are marked, these marked areas are very well known. But the book is a great source to check out.

Within 20 miles of Rapids you have Deer, Moose, Northstar, Mississippi and Prairie river, and your a chip-shot from Leech and Cass.
