Ice report for Spirit Lake, IA

Iam thinking of going to Spirit lake this weekend, How thick is the ice? Has the fishing been good? What areas have been the best? Thanks

I'm in Emmetsburg and I usually ask around about the big lakes. There are quite a few permanent houses out, but there some open areas on East and West lake. Havent really heard much about the bite. I plan on headin up to the big lakes for a weekend full of fishing. I wish the DNR would put the fishing report on their site, but i can understand why they dont have it up. Good luck this weekend.
