Gramps went up to the South end of Sand Lake a few days back in hopes of fishing on the very south edge of the refuge. He said there was just a skim of ice near the show and the rest was wide open water.

They then proceeded to Tacoma park where they fished 6 FOW and never had a bite. He said the ice was 5" think at Tacoma Park.
