Metro ice reports

Well im heading back to MN from Wyoming on thursday for the x-mas break.... and was wondering how thick the ice is in metro area? I usually fish bald eagle and white bear lake? Anyone been out there and know how thick it is? I know up north its thick enough but ive heard a lot of varying reports down in the metro area.

I drove buy Baldy monday and saw a handful of people walking out to what looked like the south side of the island. I was able to get out on Forest and found 6+ out there.
