I really think a fish that age was better off in the tank supplied by TWPD. I know they raised a lot of money from the tours of the hatchery and most of the interest was for the giant blue cat.

Hopefully the biologists learned a lot from the big fish.

My guess is that if she was still producing eggs that they weren't viable. If a fish that size produced viable eggs I am sure Texas would have hatched them. They will make fiberglass replicas of trophy bass for anglers to harvest eggs from the females. They do however release the big bass after spawning.

I spoz I can see it both ways. She probably didn't spawn well but the chance to catch her again would be on a lot of peoples minds
